New toys!

I have just bought myself a set of 3 Pilot Parallel pens. They're great fun, and absolutely ideal for grabbing and playing around with in the few minutes when my daughter is quiet or napping and I don't have time to set myself up for a long writing session. These were done with the 2.4mm pen and a cartridge of the violet ink that came with the set.

As you can see, we've been celebrating Burns Night!

  1. Your calligraphy is gorgeous! I've been wanting to buy a new calligraphy pen for addressing my wedding invitations. With nearly 200 invitations going out, it's a huge investment in time, but I wanted to give it a personal touch and I wanted to have a good quality and versatile calligraphy pen. I've read a lot of reviews and I found the Pilot Parallel particularly suited for versatility and creativity. Seeing your samples in purple -- the color scheme for my wedding (my absolute favorite color since childhood) -- and in a similar type of calligraphy that I do -- sealed my decision. I'll be purchasing the 1.5, 2.4 and 3.8 versions today. And who knows, if I really like it (and can find the time!) perhaps I'll do some larger works for the wedding itself and purchase the 6mm! Anyway, thanks for inspiring me and being instrumental in sealing my decision. Keep up your beautiful calligraphic artwork. You're very gifted! All the best, Amy

  2. Ah, I forgot to say that I also love that the Pilot parallel pens have mixable inks (from what I've read and seen) and I can't wait to try my hand at color gradation!
